🔍 Popular Theories

History of the Deer

The Deer may have been experimented on in an unknown lab. A mutation caused it to stand on two legs, grow larger, and become more violent. After killing the scientists, it forced remaining humans to become cultists who worship and work for it.

The Cages Theory

In cultist locations around the map, there are cages - particularly a large broken cage that could fit the Deer or other monsters. This suggests cultists were scientists testing animals before accidentally creating the Deer monstrosity.

The Four Missing Children

The children were likely kidnapped by the Deer and trapped in Locked Caves, guarded by wolves and bears. Rescuers created "missing kid locations" boards to help find them.

The Forest Incident

The forest may have been used as a testing or sacrifice place by cultists. The Deer appeared and forced cultists to work out of fear. A plane crashed (possibly by aliens) carrying a mother who died, and the children were trapped in caves.

👹 Other Entities

The Owl

Based on the Kikiyaon myth and Wereowl legend:

  • Hunts at night by swooping down from the sky
  • Heard before being seen
  • Flies upwards before attacking (look up!)
  • Possibly stronger than the Deer
  • Even the Deer won't go near it

The Ram

Another mutated entity with its own unique behaviors and weaknesses.

Wild Animals

  • Alpha Wolves: Guard the caves and work with the Deer
  • Bears: Ferocious guardians throughout the forest
  • The Deer's Diet: Shown eating wild animals in cutscenes

🔥 The Cultists

Mysterious humans who worship and work for the Deer out of fear:

  • Cultist Base: Main gathering location
  • Cultist Stronghold: Fortified position
  • Cultist Hunter Camp: Hunting outpost
  • Attack the campfire alongside the Deer
  • May have been former scientists from the lab

👽 Mysterious Elements

The UFO (Exclusive)

Alien recon was sent to investigate the cultist experiments. The UFO may have crashed due to engine problems or the Owl. Crashed UFOs can spawn as structures around the map.

The Frogs

Frogs have started emerging, most likely due to UFO crashes. Their exact purpose remains unknown.

Purple Berries

May be a reference to the fruit the Amazon survivors ate while waiting for help.

📝 Hunter & Ranger Notes

Hunter's Note

"They told me to never hunt here. The deer behave differently. I should have listened. It's outside right now staring at me through the window. Bullets don't work on it. I don't think I'll survive the night."

Ranger Log 1

"Something very strange has been going on in the park. A few days ago I noticed a Deer standing on its hind legs and looking at me. At first I thought it was a human. It wouldn't move closer to me, it just stood there staring at me."

Ranger Log 2

"The deer just watches me. It doesn't seem to come closer. I don't think it likes my flashlight or my campfire."

Ranger Log 3

"The Deer chased me all night. I was only saved when the sun came up and it disappeared into the forest. I bet the science lab at the edge of the forest has some answers."

Camper's Diary

"Someone has been stalking me out here. I've seen it move out of the corner of my eye. It's taller than any human I've seen. It almost looks like… a deer."
