Frequently Asked Questions
What is Grow a Garden?
Grow a Garden is an indie farming simulator on Roblox developed by Splitting Point Studios. Players begin with a small plot of land where they plant and nurture crops, then harvest and sell produce to earn Sheckles—the game's primary currency. Sheckles can be used to buy seeds, gear, eggs and decorative items. As you progress, you can expand your land, use gear to speed up growth, hatch eggs to obtain pets with passive abilities, and participate in quests or seasonal events for free items.
How does the weather system work in Grow a Garden?
Grow a Garden features a global weather system—when a weather event begins, it affects all servers simultaneously. Weather can speed up crop growth, apply special mutations that boost crop value, and occasionally trigger rare or event-locked mutations. Some special weather types are only activated by game administrators.
What are the effects of rain, frost and thunderstorms?
Rain: Increases crop growth speed by 50% and gives fruits a 50% chance to gain the Wet mutation. Wet crops are worth twice their normal value.
Frost: Boosts growth by 50% and introduces a chance for crops to become Chilled (×2 value) or Frozen (×10 value). Frost also makes players' avatars shiver.
Thunderstorm: Speeds growth by 50%, has a 50% chance to apply Wet and crops struck by lightning obtain the Shocked mutation.
What happens during Night and Blood Moon events?
Night events have a chance to apply the Moonlit mutation; six crops become Moonlit per night and the event occurs multiple times each day at fixed GMT times, lasting ten minutes. You can increase Moonlit crop yields by using a Night Staff.
During a Blood Moon, crops have a chance to become Bloodlit. Six crops receive the Bloodlit mutation per cycle; the event can replace Night, the sky turns red and special shops or events may appear.
